What Customers Say About Saitek ST290 Programmable Joystick with Throttle:

Once I went to great lengths to repair the trigger, affixing it with a little loop of 12-gauge electrical wire (which worked for some time) but the trigger wobbled during that time and always felt a bit weird.I am not a crazy trigger-puller or anything like that. I have owned four or five of these (Saitek ST290 Pro) over the past three years. My only complaint about this stick is the way the trigger is attached to the stick. This has happened to every one of these that I have owned. If they would have used 1 or 2 more grams of plastic, this could have been achieved. All in all, I love this stick, and for $20 a pop it hasn't been a bad investment. The trigger has plastic hooks that grab a rod, holding the trigger in place.

The trigger is just poorly-engineered. I love the stick for its ease of use, no doubt about it. I play normally, usually for a total of around 5 hours a week. However, these hooks are rather weak and thin, and after numerous trigger pulls they weaken and break, and the next thing you know. BAM, your trigger flies off. Stronger plastic should have been used, and the trigger connection should be a complete loop around the rod (making it stronger) rather than just little hooks that grab the rod.

I would just appreciate a little more durability instead of having the trigger self-destruct at an inopportune time.

It has probably endured at least 500 hours of pretty rough usage, and the buttons all still work and the axies (). I bought the Saitek ST290 at Wal-Mart about three years ago for $30. Since then, it has been pounded daily by both Mechwarrior and a multitude of different flight sims. are still pretty accurate, with very little twitch or numbness.Really, could you possibly ask for more for $30. I'm going to order another one.

I love this joystick when i got microsoft flight simulator i wanted a cheap joystick to start off with and its still awesome. if you are looking at it get it. Pros:Programmable ButtonsTrigger Throttle ControlCons:None that i can think off

why on earth does this joystick cost so much. I buy one almost every year and at walmart and it costs 19.99. What the hell is wrong with amazon.com

My husband has used this model joystick for years and finally wore his old one out. We searched locally and couldn't find one - we tried other brands and models, but he claims this one is the best one for use with his flight simulators. Easy to program and use.
